Videos Add Context

Commissioners and artists know there is a lot that happens behind-the-scenes before, after, and during installation. Why was an artist chosen? What was the setting? How difficult was the installation? These questions frequently have very different and interesting answers! Sculptures installed at Memorial Sloan Kettering's David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care  by artist Kim Dickey had to be brought up to a dizzying height to reach a rooftop area. Watch this video to understand more about how these sculptures were installed, the process and meaning of the art, and how the project looks from different angles in comparison to the dimensions of the spaces:

An informative video adds significantly to the project page, not just complimenting any words or photos, but also giving visitors to the page the opportunity to find more layers of meaning through the video.

Dynamically Show the World Your Achievement

Not every video needs to be like the mini-documentary above. It's enough to demonstrate how much time, effort, and work went into a project, or to visually document the scale.

You should be proud of the amazing public art projects you've helped bring to life! Swarm is a project that was created for Canal Convergence | Water + Art + Light. This is an important event in Scottsdale, Arizona which brings people together and boosts the local economy:

CODAworx Promotes Video Content

If you've been following best practices for social media or how algorithms on such sites work in recent times, you may be aware that video content now performs very well across many platforms. Videos, rather than still images, can attract exponentially more views, "likes", "favorites", or other markers of digital engagement on popular platforms, such as Instagram or LinkedIn.

We want to help people better understand the commission process, the public art industry, and/or the artwork itself. That's why CODAworx likes to share videos on our social profiles. By adding videos to your projects, you increase the likelihood of us sharing your projects!
